Titled “Why the World Will End Surely on 29 July 2016? Shocking facts“, the 17-minute video says the horrific events will signal a biblical Armageddon and the second coming of Christ.
Those behind the film claim an ongoing phenomenon known as a polar flip will be responsible for the destruction of the planet as we know it.
Narrated by a computer-generated female voice, the video says: “The polar flip will make the stars race across the sky, and the vacuum from the reeling of the Earth will pull the atmosphere along the ground, trying to catch up, creating what is known as a roll cloud.
“For Jesus will only return on the day the poles reverse and a global earthquake reels the Earth, turning it upside down and leaving every city in the world in utter ruin and destruction.
“Now it is time to make your decision to accept Jesus as your saviour or reject him.”
Polar shift is a real geomagnetic phenomenon whereby the invisible magnetic North Pole moves slowly upwards, caused by the movement of molten iron within the Earth’s core.
Scientists calculate the world goes through this geomagnetic reversal around every 780,000 years.
But, rather than a sudden shift in polarity, these magnetic poles move slowly over thousands of years and since records began, the pole has so far shifted more than 600 miles.
A viral video claims the world will end on July 29 due to polar shift
So where do the video prophets get July 29 from?
Since the 20th century the speed of the shift has increased to 40 miles a year.
NASA announced that it will speed up further from July 14 to August 19, which appears to be the basis for the new prediction.
Shift of the geographic North Pole is also taking place due to the weight from melting Arctic glaciers redistributing the weight of Earth’s oceans.
Of this, NASA says we will barely notice it.
A spokesman said: “While the conditions that cause polarity reversals are not entirely predictable, there is nothing in the millions of years of geologic record to suggest that any of the doomsday scenarios connected to a pole reversal should be taken seriously.”
The video claims the polar shift will trigger a global megaquake
Doom-mongers also claim the polar shift will weaken Earth’s magnetosphere which protects us from cancerous radiation.
But Nasa, again claims there is no need to worry, but it released a statement to allay fears due to the amount of people viewing the video.
The spokesman added: “Even with a weakened magnetic field, Earth’s thick atmosphere also offers protection against the sun’s incoming particles.”
However, End Times Prophecies has previously failed on its predictions.
These included an asteroid hitting Earth this May, and President Barack Obama announcing he was the Antichrist in June.
But NASA does admit the polar shift may result in the arrows of modern compasses having to be switch dot take account of it.
